Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion takes place once these reasons cease to apply.
General information on the legal basis for data processing on this website
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR if special categories of data under Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. In the case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information on your device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing is additionally based on § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your data is required for the performance of a contract or for pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if it is required to fulfil a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legal bases relevant in each individual case are explained in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external bodies. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external bodies. We only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure. When using processors, we only pass on our customers’ personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected.

IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, correction and deletion
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time about this and other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us about this at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to advertising e-mails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of the legal notice obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example through spam e-mails.
4. Data collection on this website
Server log files
Our web server logs successful page requests without personal data: the time, the requested address, method, status code, size and duration of the response, and in addition only the domain of the page you came from (for example “reddit.com”, not the full address), a campaign tag if the link contains one (for example “?ref=forum”), and a rough classification of the requesting program as a browser, a search engine crawler, an AI service, another automated request (bot) or other. Your IP address, the full browser identification (user agent) and the full referring address are not stored. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days at the latest. Only for failed requests (for example a page that does not exist) does the upstream server additionally store:
- IP address
- Time of the request
- Requested address and method
- Status code, size and duration of the response
These error logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. Browser type, operating system and referrer are not logged for them.
From the logs of successful page requests we count how often each page was requested, through which domains and campaign tags visitors arrived, and how many requests came from bots, broken down into search engines, AI services and other bots. The counts contain no details of individual visits or persons; they are evaluated on our own server and not passed on to third parties. No cookies are set and no scripts for audience measurement are loaded.
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.
Storage of settings in your browser
If you explicitly set the appearance of this website to “Light” or “Dark”, we store this one setting in your browser’s local storage so that it is kept on your next visit. Without this choice, or if you choose “System”, nothing is stored. These are not cookies. The setting remains exclusively on your device, is not transmitted to our server or to third parties and is not combined with other data. We cannot draw any conclusions about your identity from it. The language of this website follows solely from the address you open and is not stored.
This storage is strictly necessary within the meaning of § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG to provide the setting you have expressly chosen; consent is therefore not required. You can delete the stored settings at any time by removing the website data in your browser. The website will then be shown in your system setting again.
Contact form
You can reach our contact form at home-mandate.org/contact. If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
Your message is delivered as an e-mail to our mailbox on our own mail server (hosted by Hetzner, see above); the service that receives the form does not store it and logs neither your details nor your IP address. To limit abuse, it counts requests per IP address in memory only; this counter is deleted after about one hour at the latest.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Spam protection with ALTCHA
To protect our contact form against automated submissions (spam), we use ALTCHA, an open-source solution based on the proof-of-work principle. ALTCHA runs on our own server; no data is transmitted to ALTCHA or any other third party.
When you submit the form, your browser solves a small computational task previously provided by our server. The result is transmitted to our server together with your enquiry and verified there. No cookies are set, no information is stored on your device, no usage profile is created and no image or behaviour analysis takes place. Only the technical data that arises when any website is accessed is processed (see “Server log files”).
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in protecting our contact form against misuse and automated submissions. Insofar as program code is executed on your device to solve the computational task, this is strictly necessary within the meaning of § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG for the use of the contact form that you have expressly requested.
Enquiries by e-mail, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The data you send us via contact enquiries will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
